Requesting your support: Great Transition process
Dear friends,
I’m on a journey and need your help. I need your eyes, your ears and - most importantly - your hearts.
I’ve ventured into a very meaningful project that is part of my calling. Perhaps only in practice or perhaps in more substantial terms - that’s to be determined. All I know is that this project is here with me now and I’m showing up to it in full. And I need your help.
The project’s about the future of our world - how to make sense of the heartbreak that’s projected to happen over the upcoming century. How to hold and be in relationship with the reality that so much of our Earth is projected to be permanently disfigured due to our decisions as a human family.
Family - what a strong word. As I wrote that it hit me hard. My human family created the global warming that will kill off thousands of species of plants and animals, that will forcibly remove millions of people from their homes, that will irreversibly affect the way we go about life as we know it. MY family did that. Wow..
As I sink into the disfiguration and devastation I get woozy. The collective trauma of our future is a lot to hold. As a sensitive soul, I can feel it, even if I can’t tell you specific dates, numbers, time off the top of my head. That’s what we have scientific projections for. And they all say similar things.
And that’s where someone like Duane Elgin comes in. An elder who’s been operating at both levels of this inquiry (if I may put it so dualistically crudely). At both the intuitive and the scholarly. And offers us sturdy jumping-off points to dive into the work from.
So the project is this - how do we make sense of climate change and systemic collapse? How do we allow that to land in our bodies in order to be more fully present with this moment in time? And how do we trust in the process going on? Because even though I don’t know how to make sense of climate change, I do know from my own healing journey that everything’s here for a reason and we must believe in that potential to actualize it.
My request is this: Be with me on this journey. As a friend, a companion, a witness. I’ll be writing and posting pieces about my experience designing a workshop that’s scheduled for February. The workshop will use Duane Elgin’s poignant and poetic report “Humanity’s Great Transition: A Middle Path to a Sustainable and Surpassing Future” as our anchor. And we’ll go there with each other. Together.
Psychically cheer me on, energetically hold space, physically call and hug. Because this shit’s hard. And it’s real. And it’s needed.
Thanks, love and all that real shit,
Liz
